IS CARBON % IMPORTANT?


More carbon = More power, but it can mean less control without the right level of strength and skill. The right balance of power and control of child's level will help their continued development. With greater Carbon levels, players need greater strength and skill to keep a good level of control.

It's important for a stick to match skill level. For most junior players we recommend 0-30% Carbon, starting with a lower level and working their way up as they progress. There are composite sticks without Carbon also. These are a fantastic bridge for young players as they develop and grow.


 

DOES MY CHILD NEED A TOP-OF-THE-RANGE STICK?


In short – no. The top-end sticks can often hinder basic skill development due to their rigidity. High-end sticks are more suited to Juniors who have great all-round skills and want to extend them further.

If your child is still a developing player, a wooden or fiberglass stick could still be the way to go.
